CodeBase HealthTech Meetup

A quarterly evening meetup to discuss emerging Healthtech advances. Bringing together clinicians, startups, computer scientists and biologists, the meetup will showcase the most interesting work in the field.

Chaired by Jamie Coleman, CoFounder of CodeBase and UltraHuman.

Speakers & Q&A: Dr William Whiteley.

Speaker & Q&A: Ady Sevy: Double down on your competitive advantage as a startup: Speed, to truly surprise your customers.

In a slow moving, highly regulated industry, learn how you can move fast by changing a few simple processes in how your team develops software, and getting rid of traditional expectation such as releasing a perfect solution the first time.

7:30pm Short toilet break and food/drink re-supply.

Additional Information

Speakers for the evening:

Ady Sevy: I'm the Product Development Manager at Relaymed. Previously worked in the financial sector as a Product Manager for Klarna and have done projects for Microsoft and New York State Office Of The Attorney General while getting a Master's in Applied Data Science from New York University. Originally from Israel, I have also served in the Israeli Air Force as a Helicopter Flight Simulator Instructor.

Dr William Whiteley: William Whiteley is a Scottish Senior Clinical Fellow (funded by CSO) in the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences, University of Edinburgh.

He is also Senior Clinical Fellow in the Nuffield Department of Population Health, University of Oxford; an International Fellow at the Population Health Research Institute, University of McMaster (Canada); and a consultant neurologist in NHS Lothian, working with patients with stroke and dementia.

His work seeks to elucidate the mechanisms for prevention of disability due to stroke and dementia through the design, delivery and analysis of epidemiological studies and clinical trials. Of particular interest are: the contribution of vascular risk factors to dementia; the very long term follow-up of randomized trials; and the better use of large electronic health record datasets for more efficient clinical trials and cohort studies.

Dr Grant Mair: Doctor of Medicine, University of Edinburgh

He is currently investigating relationships between what we see on imaging at the onset of stroke and how this relates to stroke severity, response to treatment with intravenous thrombolysis and eventual functional outcome for these patients.

Working with both CT and MR imaging to assess changes in brain tissue, arterial blood flow and arterial perfusion of brain using a number of different imaging techniques.

Interested in developing computational techniques for the automated analysis of brain imaging, especially in stroke.
