Spring Forward is a month-long celebration of the role of women in digital culture and runs throughout March in parallel with Women's History Month.
codebar is a community run free weekly event which increases diversity in the tech industry through teaching coding skills to people under-represented in the tech industry.
Developers volunteer to mentor codebar students to learn coding skills, often starting with web development. Our tutorials can be found here.
You do not need any prior coding experience to sign up as a codebar student, the idea is to come along and give it ago in a friendly and supportive environment.
Local tech companies support codebar by kindly hosting and sponsoring the workshops. Checkout the sponsors section of our website.
Please join us on March 21st for a special Spring Forward codebar workshop and learn coding skills with the help of a friendly mentor. There will also be food and refreshments, compliments of Spring Forward festival.
To attend you will need to sign up as a student or mentor on the codebar website.
If you already have an account on the codebar website then click either 'Attend as a Student' or 'Attend as a Coach'
If you do NOT have an account on the codebar website then click 'Sign up'. It will ask you to create a free Github account. You then use your Github login to log into the codebar website. You can then click 'Attend as a coach/student'
By signing up to the codebar website, you will receive email invites to the weekly workshops. If you would like to attend them then click 'accept' within the email, otherwise ignore. You can stop these emails by unsubscribing here.
