Additional Information

We'll be working on some great civic technology projects. Some of the projects need your help... have a look at the list below.

We'll start off with a quick overview of the projects before we break into groups to work on them. Of course, we're always looking for new ideas to solve community problems using technology. Come along and we'll help you to develop and pitch your idea, then hopefully form a team to bring it to life!

As usual, the event will be followed by pizza, beer and a chance to talk to each other after the event.

Looking forward to seeing you all there! By the way, you can register for more than one person if you want to bring a friend - all welcome!

Our current projects:

  • Save a Selfie (mapping defibrillators so they can be found in an emergency. We need help to develop the Android app)
  • Dublin Collaboration Dashboard (sharing information about community groups and projects in Dublin)
  • Rothar (prototyping an idea to reduce bike theft. Open source code is available to develop further)
  • Dearest Ireland (Creating a place where letters to the future of Ireland can be collected, published and shared with the world. We need designer and developers)
  • Falls & Fracture prevention (making an online tool to help people assess their risk level for falls and fractures)
  • What's in my water? (providing open data on water quality in an accessible format)
  • Wedding red tape (making government information on marriage easier to access)
  • MyQ (trying to reduce queuing for public services. We need help to market and promote the app to government)
  • Building out our website (interested in promoting Code for Ireland online? Got ideas for our website?)

See http://codeforireland.com/apps/ for more details.

Note: So you don't miss out, we'll check and add you to our email list if you're not on there already. This means you will be invited to future events. There is an unsubscribe option on all our emails.
