Guided by Herman Miller
Saturday, June 24, 2pm
For New York’s Herman Miller Design Ride, leaders Michael Sainato, VP of Creative at Design Within Reach, and Andrew McGee, an architect at Knoll International, take us to some of Manhattan’s overlooked gems and public spaces. Explore artist Brian Tolle’s Irish Hunger Memorial, a slice of the rural Irish landscape situated in the heart of Battery Park City; then, we’ll head east into the bustling Financial District for a tranquil oasis—modern master Isamu Noguchi’s subterranean Sunken Garden at Chase Manhattan Bank Plaza. Cap off the ride with river views from Elevated Acre, a lush rooftop garden that’s at once an escape and a destination. The ride should last around two hours. Come prepared with a puncture repair kit, a snack, and helmet. Pedals with foot retention are not required.
Upon signing up to this event, your email address will be added to the Rapha mailing list.
Herman Miller Design Ride: Manhattan’s Modern Monuments are unavailable, but other tickets are still available.
