Guided by Herman Miller
Saturday, October 28th – 2pm
In a city shaped by as much by the automobile as the pleasures of surf, sand, and celebrity, ride leader Michael Sainato, VP of Creative at Design Within Reach, puts pedal to pavement for a sampling of Los Angeles’ midcentury architectural treasures. Start the tour at DWR’s West Hollywood outpost before cruising down Melrose Avenue to the early modernist masterpiece, the Schindler House. Then we’ll ride west to Charles and Ray’s legendary Eames House in the Pacific Palisades and to their former studio in Venice. Next we head for the (Hollywood) hills to architect A. Quincy Jones’ home in Laurel Canyon before we finally descend to Rodeo Drive to the iconic Rem Koolhaas-designed Prada Store in Beverly Hills. We’ll finish the archi-tour back at the Rapha Clubhouse. The ride should last around two hours. Come prepared with a puncture repair kit, a snack, and helmet. Pedals with foot retention are not required.
Upon signing up to this event, your email address will be added to the Rapha mailing list.
