THE GODFATHER (1972)

It's our birthday! For Cannoli & Gun's one year anniversary in April, join us as we return to Rosemarino for a sumptuous three course meal with a viewing of the classic 1972 Francis Ford Coppola film, The Godfather. The evening will end with, finally, cannoli!

When it comes to classic films with classic food, there are few that are quite as spectacular as The Godfather. When you're dealing with a family from Sicily, food, mealtimes, are sacrosanct. It's less something to fill you up, and more something religious. Something sacred.

The Corleone family have built up a criminal empire, and in order to maintain it, the ageing Don Vito (Marlon Brando) must choose a successor. The film follows the rise of his son Michael (Al Pacino) as he joins the family business. It's a short summary of an exceptionally complex film, with layers of crime and family as deep and rich as the layers of food that is throughout the film.

The exceptional team at Rosemarino will be cooking up some of the fine food seen in the film for your enjoyment and delectation. The evening will start with an antipasto dish. We will then watch the first half of the film to the intermission, whereupon the main course will be served, veal marsala. Both these dishes can be seen during the restaurant scene where Michael must make a choice that will change the course of his life forever.

After the second half of the film, enjoy authentic cannoli, the food and indeed film that inspired our name. Why not have a coffee, or a dessert wine, and stay and mingle. It's our birthday party, after all!

As with the last event at Rosemarino, tickets are very limited, so act fast to be part of what is sure to be an unforgettable night.

It's an offer you can't refuse.
