Stride into Summer | May 10K Steps Challenge

This May, we are challenging businesses to get involved in the 10k steps a day wellbeing challenge. This involves staff completing 10,000 steps or moving for 3-5 miles a day throughout the month of May.

If you’re a HR manager or line manager, we can support you to encourage your staff to be more active this May by promoting the 10,000 steps a day challenge within your organisation.

Walking or being more active is one of the best ways to get healthier. Physical activity can reduce risk of developing cardiovascular disease, certain types of cancer, stroke and can also help manage weight.

Research shows that even a short burst of 10-minutes of brisk walking or movement increases our mental alertness, energy, and mood. (Mental Health Foundation, 2024)

With the brighter mornings and evenings, this challenge is a great opportunity for organisations to encourage staff to be more active, whether it’s walking 10,000 steps a day, moving a bit more or completing 3-5 miles a day in a wheelchair.

Following registration, we will send you information and resources with tips to how to get started and promote the challenge internally.

Please note, this is a workplace challenge and registration is for organistions, not individuals. Organisations are responsible for setting up and promoting this challenge internally to staff.
