Befriending Volunteer Information Session

Could you spare just one hour a week to brighten the life of a lonely older person?

If you’d like to help brighten someone’s day with a simple phone call, come along to this 30-minute session to learn what a Befriending Volunteer role involves and support and training available.

We are delighted to partner with Engage with Age, a charity dedicated to supporting older people, that are currently seeking telephone befriending volunteers from across Northern Ireland to help those experiencing loneliness.

Engage with Age telephone befrienders make 2-3 calls per week to an older person who feels isolated and disconnected. These calls can be made at a time and place that suits you.

Befriending volunteers play a vital role in reducing loneliness and isolation by offering friendship, conversation, and regular social contact to older people in the community.

Whether you’re curious about volunteering or ready to take the next step, this is a great opportunity to find out more in a relaxed and welcoming space.
