AI and Older Workers: Reskilling and Upskilling in the labour market
Thursday 21 March | 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM | Online
In today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, AI is becoming increasingly prevalent across many industries.
According to a recent McKinsey Global Institute Report Jobs Lost, Jobs Gained: Workforce changes in a time of automation, roughly 14 percent of the global workforce may need to switch occupational categories as digitisation and advances in AI disrupt the world of work.
Older workers in traditional non-digitised roles are particularly vulnerable. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss ways in which we can support the older workforce during this change, through managing skills gaps and creating opportunities to reskill and upskill.
Topics covered in this workshop:
- Skill shortages and how to reach an untapped talent resource.
- The impact artificial intelligence will have on the workplace and the older workforce.
- Why learning and development must be a priority for all organisations.
- Reducing the risk of bias and making sure everyone has equal opportunity.
The Age-Inclusive Learning Network is part of Age at Work, a partnership programme between Business in the Community and Age NI, and funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
