COMPLETE: Beyond Diversity + Inclusion

As our collective consciousness rapidly evolves, how do we design an equitable future? Many orgs communicate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, but those are only metrics for equity. To lead equitable organizations, we must see where equity is present — or not — inside our own organizations and in our own leadership. If we struggle to identify whether we’re personally embodying equity leadership, then we have blindspots. But these blindspots are opportunities to recreate the way we design systems and processes — from our workflows and decision-making to why, how and for whom we build our products and services.

This digital conference will go beyond diversity and inclusion, focusing on how you can expand your own leadership through practicing methods of equitable design. We’ll explore embodied leadership, power dynamics and opportunities to redistribute that power, as well as the impacts of systemic racism that is embedded in the products, services and content we design and build. Finally, we’ll leave you with tools and practices you can use in your own expression of equitable leadership.
