THE PRINCESS BRIDE IS NOW SOLD OUT.

Welcome to Bristol Sunset Cinema's first screening: The Princess Bride - the beloved fantasy tale of beautiful princesses, foul villains and dashing heroes from director Rob Reiner.

The Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn) is saddened by the disappearance of her true-love Westley (Cary Elwes), and finds that she now has no choice but to become engaged to the evil Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon). FAQs

On The Night

What time will it start?

We hope to get the film started for 8.00pm, however if it is not yet dark enough by that time, we may have to wait an additional 10-20 mins. However, it's all part of the fun of outdoor screenings!

Can I bring children?

The Princess Bride is a family film with a PG rating, so children are more than welcome! However, please ensure that your children are accompanied by an adult at all times and that they do not disturb other audience members during the screening.

What if it rains?

In the event of wet weather, the screening will still go ahead - this is the UK! Make sure you check the forecast and dress appropriately. Make sure you bring warm (maybe also waterproof!) clothing and a blanket if you wish, as it does get colder in the evenings. Unfortunately we cannot give refunds if it rains.

Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds, will the screening be cancelled.

What should I wear?

Bring warm clothes, layers and blankets as it can get very cool towards the end of a screening. If the forecast looks a bit dodgy, pack some waterproofs just in case.

What should I bring?

  • A picnic
  • A torch or lantern to find your way in the dark
  • Warm clothes and blankets
  • A raincoat
  • Something comfy to sit on

Chairs are welcome [low ones preferred!] but you may be asked to sit at the side or the back to avoid blocking other people’s view of the screen

Note: please be considerate if using an umbrella during a screening as it may block the view of those around you.

Can I bring a BBQ?

Blaise Castle's BBQ policy is this: Yes, however we would like to ask visitors to raise the BBQ off the ground and not use disposable BBQ's. Please also bring suitable bin bags as we ask visitors to take their litter home.

Can I bring my dog?

As attendees will be having picnics and the sound system can be quite loud, we unfortunately have to say that no dogs are permitted at the screening for everyone's enjoyment on the night.

Is there parking?

Blaise Castle has a car park and there is also off-road parking near the estate.

Tickets

Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds on ticket purchases, except when we have had to cancel an event. You can, however, reallocate your tickets to someone else if you can no longer attend a screening you have bought tickets for – contact bristolsunsetcinema@gmail.com to do so.

I've lost my e-ticket!

Facilities

Is it suitable for disabled audience members?

The route from the car park to the screening is all paved and there will be a special area for wheelchair users to view the film. If you have any special requirements, please email us at bristolsunsetcinema@gmail.com

Are there toilets on site?

Yes, there are toilets on site at Blaise Castle, including facilities for disabled audience members.

Will there be any food/drink available to buy?

Not this time, so bring a picnic for our first screening! We recommend a nice MLT – mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe...

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking is permitted at our outdoor events, but please consider those around you and smoke away from the screening area.
