2020 in review: What we learned about remote work
As we barrel toward the end of what has been a unique year that most people would probably like to forget, putting things into perspective might seem daunting. Yet without the ability to gather en masse for the upcoming holidays, and against the backdrop of a pandemic that won't go away any time soon, the search for wisdom and meaning is indispensable to our sanity.
As difficult as it may be, we believe it's important to take stock of the positives: we found creative ways to grow our companies against the odds, we learned how to support our teams as work and personal lives became inextricably tangled, and we proved that remote work really does work.
We have all changed how we work and some of those changes are worth keeping.
For this Holiday special meetup, we have invited a panel of past meetup speakers and remote work thought leaders that we have had the pleasure of working with this year, to share the one lesson from 2020 they will bring with them into 2021 and beyond. In turn, we also want to hear from you, our community of wonderful Founders, People Ops and HR professionals, about your learnings.
Join us on Wednesday, December 16th at 16:30 GMT (17:30 CET/11:30 ET/08:30 PT) to hear from:
- Petya Milcheva, Global HR Business Partner, Automattic
- Tammy Bjelland, CEO and Founder, Workplaceless
- Kate James, Head of People Ops, Curve
- Laurel Farrer, Founder, Remote Work Association and CEO, Distribute Consulting
and your peers so we can end the year on a positive and hopeful note.
We hope to see you there ❤️
