Featured projects:

  • Q-Map: Queens Readiness Resources, by Andrew Kittredge of the BetaNYC Lab: a tool built with the NYC Preparedness & Recovery Institute that helps Queens residents find emergency resources in their community district, before, during, and after an emergency.
  • WayMakr, by Amanda Baly-Bonilla: a phone-first guide that connects New Yorkers facing eviction, food insecurity, homelessness, domestic violence, or a mental health crisis to real help, drawn from official NYC sources.
  • Stories of New York City, Mapped, by Austin Steinhart: an interactive map that places 50 years of the New York Times' Metropolitan Diary stories on the street corners, restaurants, and neighborhoods where they happened.
  • NYC Indoor Pool Finder, by Ray Shah and Joy Lau of Think Design: a mobile and desktop app, updated daily, that shows when the City's indoor pools have lap swim, so you never arrive during kiddie pool hours.
