Additional Information

Berlin GAA was founded in 2014 and now fields teams across four codes in mens and ladies Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club has enjoyed particular success in Gaelic Football of late with both the men's and ladies team crowned Regional Champions in June this year. Some three weeks later, Berlin GAA's men's team were victorious against Belgium GAA in the final of the European Senior Football Championship. Berlin GAA became the first team in European GAA history from outside the strong Benelux and Channel Islands regions to win what is the most prestigious competition on the circuit in continental Europe. The win qualifies Berlin GAA to compete in the AIB Leinster Junior Club Football Championship where they will face the Longford representatives in Round 1 of the Leinster Championship on Saturday, October 26 at the GAA facilities in Abbotstown, Dublin. The winners of that game will advance to face the Kildare junior champions in the quarter-final. All at Berlin GAA are extremely excited at the prospect of representing the city’s Irish community, and all European GAA expats, at such a high level in Irish club competition. But our participation brings with it significant costs, from travel to accommodation and match day costs. We place substantial financial demands on our players throughout the season as it is, so this latest adventure – as exciting as it is – brings major financial challenges. This fundraising initiative will help raise vital funds for the club and your support is greatly appreciated.
