Woodson Wine Dinner

From Cornerback to Cabernet, Charles Woodson is an unlikely winemaker but has forged a name for his wines after a successful career playing professional football. We are pleased to welcome Charles to a special dinner at Bacchus where we will pair his wines with a full dinner on Friday, April 29. Charles discovered his passion for winemaking while in California at training camp while he was still a part of the Oakland Raiders in 1998. He loved that wine was something shared at all meals in the area and brought people together. He met Rick Ruiz who was employed at Robert Mondavi’s winery and Rick invited him for a tour where Charles gained a firsthand look at the winemaking process. He was hooked and the two paired up with international winemaker Gustavo A Gonzalez to create the first barrel of Charles Woodson Wines with part of the proceeds going to charity.
