Sports Law Conference 2018
The inaugural conference of the Sports Law Bar Association of Ireland will take place on Friday 23rd February 2018 in The Gaffney Room at 2.15pm (registration from 1.30pm). Followed by a drinks reception in The Sheds Bar.
The Sports Law Bar Association of Ireland is an all-Ireland association of barristers with specialist sports law knowledge and practices. It aims to increase awareness of sports law and support barristers in providing the most up-to-date advice to sports law clients.

Dr. Ross Tucker, Science and Research Consultant, World Rugby: Evidence-based changes in sports rules
A world-renowned sports scientist, well known for forthright views on elite performance topics ranging from talent development and coaching to doping. Currently science and research consultant for World Rugby, where his work includes managing research to support initiatives to reduce the risk of injury in rugby, as well as high-performance analysis to support Tier 2 nations. He has also consulted to various international sporting federations and teams, including England Rugby, SA Sevens Rugby, USA Triathlon, SA Rowing, Kayaking and Triathlon. His particular area of interest is in the practical and strategic steps that can be taken to apply scientific concepts to performance excellence.
Tim O’Connor BL: Irish sport and concussion liability
Tim O'Connor BL is a barrister with a speciality in sports law, and particularly on rugby and concussion. He has written and published on sports law and lectures in the Sports Law diploma in the Law Society of Ireland.
Louise Reilly BL: Developments in anti-doping law
Louise Reilly BL is a practising barrister who specialises in sports law and international arbitration, especially in the field of anti-doping. She is a former Managing Counsel and Head of Mediation at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne and has represented World Rugby, Sports Ireland and the GAA.
