coffee|culture #4 : Film
coffee|culture returns this February, with the fourth instalment focused on Film in Ireland. Ireland boasts a world-class film industry, from the significance of two leading animation studios to some of the World's most renowned actors, directors and cinematographers.
Speakers
Cian McKenna - Motion Graphics
Cian McKenna is a freelance Motion-Designer and Art Director hailing from the Visual Communications BA in DIT. After interning on the 3x3 programme Cian worked in a number of Irish design studios such as Detail. Design Studio and Image Now before joining Windmill Lane Pictures as Motion-Design Lead.
Now freelance, Cian works for a wide variety of international and domestic clients on commercial and non-commercial moving image projects.
Jill Beecher - Production Design
Jill Beecher is an Irish production designer, art director and concept illustrator. Jill has worked in the Art Department for past productions including The Revenant, Game of Thrones and the upcoming Twin Peaks series. She is represented by William Morris Endeavour and is a member of the British and American Art Director Guilds.
Dave Tynan - Writer/Director
Dave Tynan is a writer and director based in Dublin City. His films focus on social and cultural issues in Ireland from Heartbreak (2017) to Just Sayin' (2012) tackling topics of youth and emigration. More recently, Dave directed the feature length adaptation of 'Dublin Old School' which is currently in post-production.

coffee|culture is a new series of creative talks that occupy Dublin’s best speciality cafés on one morning per month. Each venue is significant for its status on the Dublin City Coffee Map, presenting a snapshot of a truly vibrant and bustling coffee scene of over 30 cafés, each offering something unique and beautiful to Dublin's fair city.
Talks have been designed to provide a stimulating and inspiring start to the day, ranging in theme from films to food writing, set-design to performance art and everything in between. Speakers have been curated for their contribution to Ireland’s cultural landscape and their motivation for creating innovative work in challenging times.
