Returning to Mystery, Saving Ourselves

On Sunday the 19th of May from 3h30 to 5h30pm at St. Ethelburga’s Centre for Peace and Reconcilliation, 78 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 4AG.

We spend too much time with information and screens rather than appreciating "life itself” and nature — our greatest privileges. Our recent fascinations with meditation, yoga, and body-centred therapies, and our traditions of art and nature appreciation are responses to this situation. In this event meditators, therapists, artists, environmentalists and scientists will help us deepen our understanding of the relationship between these pursuits — how they conflict with our culture’s impulses for certainty and control, and why they are so necessary for facing personal and collective challenges, such as climate change. We will have an artist-designed ritual for mourning the dream of certainty and control that Western culture has harboured.
