Showstop® Procedure course - FUNDED

ALL PLACES ON THIS COURSE ARE NOW GONE.

----------

This is an intense and immersive course, specifically designed for those persons who are Tactical decision-makers for Crowd Safety within the Sport and Entertainment industries and others who wish to gain a better understanding of the Showstop® Procedure.

This is a brand new course, having recently been delivered in the UK for the first time. It is IIRSM-approved and CPD Certification Service accredited.

It has been developed by Steve Allen, Dr. Mark Hamilton and Prof. Chris Kemp and is being facilitated here by Safe Events Global, who are funding the course.

We are funding this to provide value to our event partners and stakeholders alongside whom we regularly work here in Ireland, primarily. We typically do have people from outside Ireland apply for places on our funded courses and many have been successful and have attended.

This is a one-day course.

Those who attend will receive a certificate of attendance.

Those who attend and wish to qualify for and receive the Professional Certificate in Showstop® Procedure will sit a formal examination at the end of the day. More details below.

There are minimum requirements for sitting the examination, primarily that you have a minimum of three years experience in the event industry, in a supervisory, managerial or director role, within safety, security, crowd management, production, event control or promoter rep roles. You will be able to demonstrate this through a CV / Professional Profile in advance.

----------

You will be required to pay a €250 deposit to secure your place, which will then be refunded once you attend the course.

Places are limited and we will be looking to spread the attendance across organisations and industry sectors as best we can.

----------

NOTE - This is an IN-PERSON course, requiring attendance at our HQ in Dublin, Ireland.

----------

Please input your name and email below to indicate your interest in attending. We will allocate places on foot of demand then, as we usually do.

More about the course

Description

Festivals, Sporting Events and Live Music Concerts entertain millions of audience members globally on an annual basis. History informs us that, even with the best planning in place, crowd-related injuries and sometimes fatalities can occur during a live performance, which could have been prevented if a robust Showstop® Procedure had been in place.

Aim

To provide those with responsibility for the safety of crowds with a proven, seamless and robust framework for the planning and implementation of the Showstop® Procedure.

Learning Outcomes

The programme will enable the successful candidates to:

Critically appraise, in a situational context and an environment within the venue or festival industry, how working together with the Showstop team, an effective and efficient delivery of successful outcomes in an incident or challenge can be realised.

Recognise and apply the most pertinent solution to a Showstop challenge, using documentation, defined role capabilities and an understanding of the artist and audience cultures.

Be cognisant of the multi-agency team and their function and show how this understanding can be applied during an emergency or crisis situation.

Provide real-time assessment capabilities of the planning, management and communication structures available to you during the Showstop process and how to get the best out of the stakeholder groups involved.

Analyse the situation taking place and be able to concisely explain to those working in the team what the implication of their roles are and what thjey are expected to deliver under pressure.

Critically review the many and various stages of your own role during the lead up to, the challenges of, and the aftermath of, the Showstop being implemented.
