Women's Evening presented by Voxwomen
Voxwomen puts you at the heart of women’s cycling. Laura Winter and Hannah Walker will take you behind the scenes of one of the most important races in the professional cycling calendar to bring you insights direct from the riders. Joining them for a night of discussion will be World Tour riders from CANYON//SRAM and special guests including:
Mandy Bishop (Jones): Mandy famously won the women's World Road Race Championship the last time Great Britain hosted the championships. In 1982 in Goodwood West Sussex, Mandy broke away from the peloton to solo to the line 10 seconds clear. She delighted a nation, famously being quoted as saying: "I won by accident. It was just plain daft. We were going downhill and I just rode past them. Then I looked back, saw I had a gap and kept going. I was praying my legs wouldn't collapse. But with around half a lap to go, I started thinking "Hey, I could win this!”.
Lisa Brambani: In the 80’s and 90’s Lisa was a trailblazer for British women's cycling. She won a silver medal in 1990 at the Commonwealth Games and represented Great Britain in the 1988 Olympic Games. She won the British National Championship on four occasions and raced all over the world with long spells in the USA.
Tanja Erath: After winning the 2017 CANYON//SRAM Racing Zwift Academy, Tanja Erath proved to be arguably the biggest talent find coming out of the women’s peloton in 2018. From riding Zwift, winning a professional contract, racing full time, winning a silver medal in the scratch race at German track national championships, being first reserve at UCI Track World Cups, and winning a stage sprint jersey at Tour de l’Ardeche, 2018 was quite the year for Tanja.
Ella Harris: Winner of the 2018 CANYON//SRAM Zwift Academy is 20 year old Ella from Dunedin New Zealand. She's had a great year this year so far, finding her feet in the pro peloton with 4th in General Classification in the Colorado Classic and won the white jersey at the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas.
