2017 Mozilla Global Sprint - The Hague - Netherlands

Mozilla’s Global Sprint is a fun, fast-paced and two-day collaborative event to hack and build projects for a healthy Internet.

Our sprint project at the National Library of the Netherlands (KB) will be centered around Library Carpentry: Software skills for library professionals https://librarycarpentry.github.io/. Over the two days we aim to amend, update, extend existing lessons and develop new lessons on SQL, Python, web scraping, and other topics of particular relevance to information professionals.

Are you a librarian, archivist, digital researcher, computer scientist, museum or information professional interested in software skills? Join this diverse and burgeoning community and help us build!

Q: I’m not a coder, can I still participate in the Global Sprint?

A: Definitely! Many of our featured projects need help with design, proofreading, writing, testing applications, and much, much more. Often the best contributions are insights from general users who respond to project ideas and prototypes in a fresh new way. We are currently seeking input from archivists about how we can make our lessons more 'archivist-friendly'. Have your say.

Q: I can only join you for 1 day. Can I still join you?

A: Yes, off course! We appreciate your help and of fcourse it is fine to join us for 1 day. Please do register so we have an estimate of the amount of people joining us.
