The emergence of Irish craft brewers, whiskey distillers and food artisans continue to bolster Ireland's food, drink and craft scene. For those outside of Ireland and unfamiliar with the country's culinary offerings they are often surprised and delighted to experience what Ireland brings to the table. From the commitment to sustainable food and drink practices, to the centuries old and contemporary craftsmanship and from the charm of the Irish culture to the rich green fields the country is inspiring innovative restaurants, chefs and food writers.
FarePlate is an event focused on celebrating Ireland and building awareness around the quality of food, drink and craft products. The one day experience has been held annually since 2016 and offers tasting tables, meet and greets with founders and ambassadors of food, travel and related products (cookbooks, craft and travel) and a fun and social setting to connect with others. Geared to anyone that is a foodie, a fan of Irish heritage, a buyer of gourmet and speciality products or looking for a fun day out - FarePlate is an event to fully appreciate what is Irish food and drink.
In 2018 FarePlate welcomed a selection of food and drink brands alongside with three well known Irish culinary leaders: Executive Head Chef Noel McMeel of Lough Erne Resort from county Fermanagh, Northern Ireland (presented by Tourism Ireland), Dublin based Boxty House with a sweet and savory boxty demo - and a stop in visit by Darina Allen of Ballymaloe House.
