Ireland is renowned for its countryside and clean fresh air, yet we can’t take the air we breathe for granted.

Localised pollutants of concern, such as a particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide have been identified across the country.

More than 1,300 premature deaths per year in Ireland are due to air pollution.

Positive steps have been taken and ongoing actions at policy level in Europe and in Ireland will improve air quality.

This online event is an opportunity for those interested in air quality to learn more, from a range of speakers, about recent developments, emerging evidence regarding health impacts and the actions being taken to improve our air.

Speakers include representatives from the Department of Environment, Climate & Communications, the Environmental Protection Agency and Local Authorities amongst others.
