Irish DXA Society Membership 2024
The Irish DXA Society is:
A professional society composed of Healthcare Professionals who use DXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry) technology for clinical care and/or research in the Republic of Ireland;
A multidisciplinary group of professionals including doctors, nurses, radiographers, researchers, academics and other aligned professionals;
A resource for members for education, research and communication to support the provision of a quality DXA service.
Aims/Purpose
- Provide support and networking for members;
- Organise education and training for members;
- Promote continuing and maintenance of professional development (CPD);
- Promote quality DXA scanning and reporting throughout the Republic of Ireland;
- Share national and International best practice with partner organisations.
Standards
- The knowledge, skills and competencies to perform and/or interpret a DXA scan;
- International Best Practice for DXA: see ISCD official positions www.iscd.org;
- Fulfill national legislative and regulatory requirements for DXA.
