ISCD – Irish DXA Society Clinical Skills Assessment Workshop

The Irish DXA Society will host a comprehensive one-day training programme on the imaging techniques and related competencies required for healthcare professionals to undertake the practical aspects of DXA scanning.

The basic objective of the workshop is to assist those undertaking the practical aspects to apply consistent and accurate technique to the scanning process and is suitable for all healthcare professionals engaged in the practical aspects of DXA scanning.

The workshop will have at its core practical hands-on sessions relating to imaging technique of patients and correct use of DXA equipment. On completion of the workshop the participants will be required to demonstrate skills in imaging technique, correct use of DXA equipment and analysis of scan images for artefacts etc. Participants will be assessed by experts and will receive a certificate of attendance and a sign off for the LSC portfolio.
