To the whole People of Ireland, the Drapier’s Letters in Leinster House with ICBA and Barry Ward SC TD

ICBA and Barry Ward SC TD welcome attendees to Leinster House to discuss the intersection of politics and justice with a look back at one of the most notable episodes of skilled political advocacy, Johnathan Swift’s Drapier’s Letters. Garnet Orange SC will examine the 7 political pamphlets which inspired a nationwide boycott in 1724-1725. Followed by a ‘Fireside Discussion’ with Barry, Garnet and ICBA chair Shaun Smyth BL.


At the end of the presentation, participants will: 

- Understand the subtle art of political advocacy.  - How to effect legal change.  - Learn how to structure and build an argument over time.  - Learn the art of written advocacy.
