Cross-Border Practice on the Island of Ireland: Convergence and Divergence
This seminar, co-organised by The Bar of Ireland and Trinity Centre for Constitutional Governance (TriCON), will provide an opportunity for discussion of North South cross-border practice and in particular, the findings of the North South Legal Mapping Project (NSLMap).
In the project, 20 academics from Ireland and Northern Ireland assessed the scope of legal convergence and divergence on the island of Ireland, across eight subject areas, including administrative law, employment law, and health law.
Their Report to the Shared Island Unit in the Department of An Taoiseach identified high-level trends, explanations, and areas for further research. Three members of the NSLMap project will present the Report; there will then be responses from senior practitioners.
A drinks reception sponsored by TriCON will follow after the seminar concludes.
