6G-XR Impact Day
Join us for the 6G-XR Impact Day, a full-day event that marks the culmination of 3 years of advanced experimental research and development in extended reality (XR) over Beyond 5G and 6G infrastructures.
This work has been carried out through 6G-XR (6G eXperimental Research), an EU-funded project under the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) partnership, aimed at strengthening European leadership in 6G technologies by enabling next-generation XR services and experimental infrastructures.
The project has developed a multisite research platform at a North Node (Finland) and South Node (Spain) to validate advanced use cases, radio technologies, multi-access edge computing, and immersive applications such as holography and digital twins. These efforts hold promise for enabling future applications across key vertical sectors including smart industry, training and education, the cultural sector, connected and automated mobility, healthcare, and the energy sector.
Hosted at the 5TONIC open research and innovation laboratory—one of the South Node facilities for key use case tests and Open Call project experimentation—and organised by the South Node partners and the wider 6G-XR consortium, this event will bring together technology developers, vertical stakeholders, and policy experts to explore the results, impact, and next steps for XR innovation in Europe.
The event will take place on 28 October 2025 in Leganés (Madrid), Spain.
